After a long struggle over logistics, the Indian government has finally managed to take hold of the body of the deceased Indian worker who had died in Macau, China under suspicious circumstances about 15 days back. The body was held by the Chinese authorities who were demanding a huge sum as funeral charges before the body could be released for transportation to India. In pain, the bereaved family had been continuously seeking help from any quarter possible for getting the body of Aman Shashi Anand released for transportation to India.
However, the quest for the remains of Aman was expedited only when VijayUpadhyay.com raised it with the Ministry of External Affairs and in a series of tweets, the Indian Embassy at HongKong has now informed us that the mortal remains of the deceased worker Aman Shashi Anand, a resident of Agra, will be arriving on Tuesday (16th July) in New Delhi.
The deceased had been working in Macau, China for some time and had reportedly talked to his parents in Agra the night before he was reported dead under mysterious circumstances about a fortnight back. The Indian government was able to obtain the body of Aman after the payment of a hefty sum towards funeral charges to the Chinese government by Aman’s parents. The parents reportedly did not seek any financial assistance from the Indian government to secure the release of the dead body.
Macau authorities handed over the Mortal remains to a local funeral parlour after completing documentary formalities. They are being prepared for sending to a HK funeral parlour, after translation of documents by a solicitor. (1/2)
